My Airtel, or the My Airtel App, is a free finance app specifically developed for Sri Lankans. Offered by Bharti Airtel Lanka (Private) Limited, it is a program that boasts all the essential telecommunication services, from prepaid balance checks to bill payments. 

With its new and improved user interface, you’ll enjoy seamless usage and easy access to any of the app’s services. In addition, users of My Airtel App will get to avail of new mobile data plans and packs and view their current data usage from their fingertips. However—if you live in Africa—downloading My Airtel Africa is highly recommended.

Make overseas calls and schedule messages

Airtel is a mobile service provider operating not only in India, but also in Sri Lanka and certain parts of Africa. In My Airtel, you can recharge your phone number using your current balance, a credit or debit card, or a recharge card. VAS or Value-Added Services—which include entertainment—are also accessible on the app. Plus, you may choose to deactivate the services you don’t frequently use.

If you’re traveling abroad, you can enable roaming and IDD (international direct dialing) on the app, allowing you to make international calls to your loved ones. With its SMS scheduling system, you’re less likely to forget to send messages to your colleagues and friends. What’s more, you can receive offers and services tailor-made for you as well as find nearby Airtel service points and partners.

In case of issues—technical or otherwise—with the app, its customer service is just a tap away. However, some users are unable to register an account on the program. One reason for this is that these users are from other Airtel-supported countries as the app’s name doesn’t include “Sri Lanka.” The program is slow, too, making even the simplest transactions a chore.

It features multiple recharge options, which include recharge cards and debit or credit cards. The app’s SMS scheduling feature is the cream of the crop as it ensures convenience and prevents users from forgetting to send time-sensitive messages. Keep in mind, though, that this app is not for African Airtel users.
